Our Mission
The Cody Ron Foundation is a social impact organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by the loss of railroad workers. Through community programs, long-term support, and future housing initiatives, we aim to provide stability, opportunity, and hope to families navigating grief and life transitions.
Who We Serve
We serve children of railroad workers who have experienced the loss of a parent. This includes children who may have been overlooked by traditional support systems due to:
- Remarriage of the surviving parent
- Custody changes or complex family situations
- Time elapsed since the loss
- Geographic location or railroad company affiliation
Filling the Gaps
Our foundation exists to fill the gaps left by traditional support systems. Many children fall through the cracks because:
- Their circumstances don't fit conventional criteria
- They're unaware of available resources
- Support programs have strict eligibility requirements
- They need ongoing support beyond initial grief counseling
What We Provide
Tangible Support
Care baskets, supplies, and resources that meet immediate needs and show children they are remembered.
Meaningful Connections
Pen-pal programs and community events that help children feel less alone in their grief journey.
Ongoing Care
Continued support throughout their childhood, not just in the immediate aftermath of loss.
Our Core Values
Inclusivity
Every child deserves support, regardless of their family structure or circumstances.
Compassion
We approach each child's situation with empathy, understanding, and genuine care.
Dignity
We honor the memory of lost parents and treat every family with respect.
Community
We build connections that help children know they're part of something bigger.
